Faux Wood Grain On PVC Pipe

Faux Wood Grain On PVC Pipe

Faux Wood Grain On PVC Pipe

Cosplayers & Prop Builders, this is a detailed demo on creating a realistic hardwood faux finish on a PVC Pipe.

Step 1: Sand PVC with 120-grit sandpaper until all lettering has come off.
Step 2: Sand PVC with 60-grit sandpaper stick. Use long, firm strokes to cut deeper grooves into the PVC. Note: All sanding strokes must be done in straight lines parallel to the pipe (no circular or zig-zag strokes).
Step 3: Hand-finishing sanding pad to get rid of PVC hairs.
Step 4: Rub on dark brown acrylic paint to fill in the deeper grooves. Let dry thoroughly.
Step 5: Rub on a think coat of burnt sienna to create a richer feel.
Step 6: Brag :-)
